It Is Not Easy to Traslate from English to Spanish

In my spanish class we translate from english to spanish as part of our curriculum. For some reason I find this much harder than the other way around. Spanish to english seems so much easier to me probably because I speak english and I can figure out what the words mean more easily. It is hard to learn another language in high school if you have never been bilingual before. Most of the time we speak the translations but in the near future the teacher is going to have us write the translations and that will be hard because we will need to spell correctly…

I had this customer in my store and she wanted to buy a book. She spoke no english and she had some questions. I could understand a bit of what she was saying but I needed to translate from english to spanish the answers to those questions. I was trying to figure out if I understood the exact book that she was looking for. My spanish is rusty but there was a time when I could carry a full conversation in the language. It is like any muscle, if you do not use it it will lose its ability to function.
